Kevin Durant Dealt To Houston
Suns Receive:
Jalen Green
Dillon Brooks
2025 10th Overall Pick
4 Future Second-Round Picks
Rockets Receive:
Kevin Durant
Suns Grade: C-
Phoenix didn’t get the return they were probably hoping for. As great as Kevin Durant still is, Phoenix likely overestimated how much teams were willing to give up for him. Durant is essentially a 2-3 year rental, given that he’s 36 years old. Additionally, Durant has dealt with availability issues over the years, playing an average of just 55 games per season since his Achilles injury in 2019. Most of the teams that were in the hunt for Durant had young cores and weren’t willing to sacrifice their depth, youth, or draft capital. Now, the Suns have a plethora of shooting guards.
Rockets Grade: A+
The Rockets got exactly what they needed. They acquired a consistent, 3-level scorer in Kevin Durant, someone who can perform when the lights are at their brightest, all without having to give up any key pieces of their young core. This may be the best position Durant has been in since his days with Golden State, where he thrived alongside a roster built from the ground up.
